    In other news: don’t use iCloud Backups because you’re giving all your data to somebody else who can give it to other people whenever they feel like it. (Ok not really news but some people don’t seem to realize “Cloud” just means “somebody else’s computer”)

    Google’s SCOTUS brief comes out swinging on copyrightability. I like it, although it *still* somehow neglects to mention that interoperability with existing Java programs does in fact exist, not just developer familiarity. Fair use part is a bit sketchy.

    Reddit finally sent the full DMCA takedown notice to . We reviewed it and confirmed that it was someone impersonating Apple. It was not sent from their law firm, which is Kilpatrick Townsend. There are issues with grammar and spelling.

    Update: The DMCA takedown that took the checka1n post down is fake.

    Welp, now has started abusing DMCA copywrite claims to take down things they don't like that are not copywritten. The encryption key for the SEP in your phone is not copywritable afaik, looks like a case for to start trying to provide some assistance.
