I think Clojure should be easier to use for beginners. But I'm skeptical this is the root problem because JS has become very hard to set up for beginners. Yet JS usage continues to grow--and get more difficult. Perceived value trumps ease-of-use.

I think it’s mostly word of mouth. There are so many js programmers that invariably it’s going to seem like consensus is js ... and they just got one more vote next time around.

I'm sure there's also something about always being able to get help. There's always someone who ran into exactly the same problem setting things up as you.

Agree, but I think the biggest bottleneck is at the top of the funnel. Would be interesting to see conversion rate for clj(s) though.
