And by the way, I'd love better error message in Clojure. I've made a few attempts but it is a /lot/ of work. I'm a little hopeful that spec will make some of the easy type-style errors more clear. But that, too, is a lot of work--speccing clojure.core.

But I am wondering whether such strong focus on error messages is not a red herring. Are we envious of Elm? Clojure has a lot of stuff that makes learning easier. We could be emphasizing those things and making them more accessible.

Examples: Each Clojure expression can be evaluated independently, as Nightlight does with the instarepl. And you are always dealing with a live system and can recompile bits without losing state. These really help learning of the language and your system.

The "System Paradigm" [http://dreamsongs.com/Files/Incommensurability.pdf …] should be emphasised more when teaching Clojure. A big part of what makes Lisp (and Smalltalk, and Haskell) mindblowing is how you approach problem solving.

Yes! He's on my list. I bet he'd come, too.

Alan Kay would be pretty epic as well. I think Clj and it's community is mentally and technically at a great place to explore thinking about thinking more.

Yeah. Of course I'd love to have him. I think it will take some work. I also want to start working on getting Adele Goldberg.
