this is false...America has five times more investment in tiny Belgium than it does in huge India. The "global economy" is really West Europe + USA. Also RE "tech" this is false. Europe, Russia far ahead of Asia in physics, math, etc., and many scientists in USA are Europeanhttps://twitter.com/woke8yearold/status/1051913777887752193 …

Almost all of this is nonsense but it’s true that many top American scientists are from Europe. Europe lacks tech clusters of its own and cannot construct the. The future ai driven superpowers will be USA and China

“The global economy doesn’t include Asia” is wrong period there is no way to salvage this argument. True that west is better at developing new forms of technology but that’s different

The investment rates speak for themselves, like what I said about Belgium and India Asian science is largely a myth. Chinese "science" is very backward and parasitic on Western. West Europe still has very strong science & tech for example France in math...

Where is the Large Hadron Collider? Europe has plenty of strong areas in hard physics, experimental physics, etc.; Russia decades ahead in propulsion/missile systems and metals science AI is a fraud dude. There will never be AI and modern "AI" is junk science

This point about ai isn’t close to right man. Forget the ai god fantasies, you don’t need that for automation and other forms of ai driven technology to reshape modern economics and society

DeepMind, arguably the cornerstone of Google's AI strategy, was British (and is still headquartered there). Where Europe sucks is in retaining talent and tech, both on individual and company level.

Europe has lots of brilliant people (although deepmind was founded by an Indian and a Greek iirc) what it lacks is tech industrial clusters and the ability to sustain its own tech industry

I agree with that. We suck when it comes to productizing and scaling new tech (with car industry being somewhat a counter example, but they are getting soundly pounded by Tesla's marketing).
