    If the number one concern really were safety of children, we would have a vaccine for kids under 12 by now, keeping them safe from Covid. The lack of re-weighting of risks by FDA to account for a pandemic is really catastrophic.

    Just talked to someone in a call center in the Philippines who claimed that there is a new variant over there that 1) is 3x-12x more transmissible than the UK variant and 2) infected the majority HC workers at one hospital *all of whom had already been vaccinated*. 😳

    Yes this. The conversation is something like the mid-2000s debate over whether torture works. It basically doesn’t, but to even have that debate is to have surrendered something.

    We’re so obsessed w/estimating causal effects of suppression efforts we have ceded impt normative ground. The right to vote is sacred. Access to the ballot should be expanded, not burdened. Be wary of those who look at attempts to disenfranchise folks & remark, “Oh, no big deal.”
