Bluesky’s first main character incident is currently happening: 4/27/23 - “dril, who cannot get the username ‘dril’ on Bluesky for some reason, is anti-sex worker because of the #BlockTheBlue hashtag”

look if you’re still being disappointed by starmer at this point it’s on you
Quote Tweet
This betrayal will be a hugely disappointing move to the thousands of members who believed Starmer when he said he supported of reform. As @mattzarb has said only an external force like @TheGreenParty can force the change our society so desperately needs. bylinetimes.com/2023/04/27/kei

I spend a few weeks forgetting to open this app and wtf had been happening
Quote Tweet
so if we're keeping track in the past few weeks this happened: - Matt Walsh hacked - Tucker Carlson fired - Stephen Crowder divorced - Ted Cruz exposed for wanting to steal the election - Elon Musk had his secret alt account leaked, where he roleplays as a teen anything else?

Why do these people insist on supporting the Shadow Health Secretary receiving tens of thousands from private healthcare backers?

Those are not huge donations, no? They are not likely to sway anyone, no? You can't really run a political campaign with merely donations that small, no? Seems inconsequential; they can't turn away every private equity (their holdings change often).

Great reporting - Our declining numbers of children will be one of THE stories of the late 2020’s. However, it’s not just cities. From 2022 to 2032 govt forecasts show a 16% reduction in primary school kids (4.1m down to 3.4m).

At least the last three elections were conducted under crusade conditions where more than half the press were screaming at the public that the opposition were traitors preparing to nationalise their arses to house a large family of immigrants, and this seems fairly relevant to me

It is striking that we had half a decade of roaring terror over Brexit and I saw only one admission the entire thing was caused by David Cameron getting ambushed by the Mail and the Sun, and having no clue at all how to fight a campaign against the press, rather than alongside it

Okay, so: The actual news item makes more sense than the headline, but passenger restrictions only on young drivers rather than *all* new drivers is discriminatory.

The UK Labour Party have built not only a hierarchy of racism but a hierarchy of oppression within their party. Transphobia is openly tolerated, targeting GRT communities is practically celebrated and the party enabled a man to harass his ex using the mechanisms of the party.

While there are not insignificant numbers of young people dying on the roads, how do you account for 25 year olds with a young family?

Compare Diane Abbott's comments to this white MP and tell me there's no hierarchy of racism within Labour. Reed was allowed to apologise and move on, very quickly. All you people calling Diane Abbott out and not Steve Reed are showing your racist arses.

Should Braverman be held to account? Absolutely. But Abbott is not being treated badly because she is black. Her suspension is due to comments that are unacceptable not ‘clumsy’.

There’s something so deeply disturbing about this take. If you don’t wanna date someone broke that’s fine for you but to say that poor people shouldn’t date is like saying we don’t deserve love, companionship and support because we’re poor. Don’t y’all see how to toxic that is?
Quote Tweet
I asked someone what their annual income is and it was below the poverty line. I asked why he was dating. He said if we come together we can change that. I don’t know if you guys see Joe Biden’s economy but dating isn’t for people who can barely support themselves.

I’m also finding it wild how much people are happily signed up to the idea that their employer should be notified every time they misbehave outside of work. And I’m not talking people being bigoted/discriminatory, you really think if you ever upset someone your boss should know?

Let’s say you get drunk on the weekend and make an ass of yourself and piss people off on the train, should you be pulled up in front of HR? Advocating for your employer to extend surveillance to your out-of-work activities is crazy. Many of us on social media wouldn’t survive it
