uninstalled VALORANT not sure why I thought it’d be worth it to be called a bitch/cunt, graphic ways they want to fk me, told to go back to kitchen/do xyz or they’ll throw/etc every other game I’m just done. by far the most sexist game I’ve EVER experienced.
the worst part? I felt like being a woman meant I wasn’t welcome to play the game. do I talk in comms and hope teammates are normal human beings? do I talk back and risk them throwing games cuz they can’t handle being rejected by a girl? do I auto mute comms and miss calls?
for a game like VALORANT, where audio cues are so important, comms are a make/break (unless you’re just sooo much better than opponents that you can smurf on them..but that probably isn’t the case most of the time) sucks that I’m a girl and can’t talk in comms
might reinstall in the future if I can guarantee a 4 or 5-stack in comp at all times. But cuz of the patch that made partying restricted to 3 tiers only (with tiers fluctuating so easily), that’s been basically impossible for the past few months so we’ll see /shrug
I have 800hrs in Overwatch and only had 3 matches where someone said something ~slightly~ sexist. In League, I can easily mute and still perform perfectly fine.
In VAL, being a girl is actually detrimental.. and honestly I LOVE valorant as a game. so this just sucks..
The worst part about all the toxicity is it only seems to be talked about when a streamer posts something that goes viral. Otherwise nothing. It's like empty reaffirmation lol
idk any female VAL player that doesn’t constantly face harassment in VAL. the ones that can generally avoid either mute all instantly and/or have a guy friend who tell people off immediately downside is that both of those options cause people to throw :/
Sorry you had to experience this too :( I had my most toxic gaming experience in Valorant - one person kept making fun of my voice, telling me to kill myself, telling the other team where I was even when I was top fragging. I even reported them and nothing was done.
yup the all chat giving away position + throwing abilities at you + following you and shooting so enemy knows exactly where you are + standing in front of angles you’re holding/body blocking etc - always right after I tell them no to their harassment in comms :)
That’s a terrible experience. I’m sorry you had to go through that.
