    Some missing companies were brought to my attention and added, so I've made this a shared Google Sheet, so the latest version of my "Companies destroyed by a breach" list will always be accessible.

    Been meaning to turn it into a table, clean it up and add the cryptocurrency exchanges that have been killed due to losing all their cryptostuff, so here's a nicer version sorted by when each went out of business. 16 now, with the addition of all the hacked crypto exchanges.

    When the twitter-hack happened, we didn’t jump to “Canaries could help” (not enough info & we avoid this sort of talk anyway) If the NYT is right, re:rogue employee abusing creds found on an internal slack, this is totally a use-case we’ve discussed before for free Canarytokens

    Knox County parents - we only have until next Wednesday to decide (individually) if our kids are going to stay at home next semester or physically go to school. Not deciding is a commitment to send them to school for the whole semester - make sure you don't miss this!

    Answer: Yes. Students who do not enroll in the virtual learning program by July 22 will attend school in-person, and must commit to in-school instruction for the full semester, unless there is a medical reason they cannot attend school in person.

    These will never end - as long as they work with some percentage of victims, there will always be some scam circulating. I’ve seen a lot of folks use to expose scammers. Get them to click your link, open your PDF... “Hey, you’re not in Paris!”

    Internet scammers still busy in 2020. My piece ‘A conversation with an iTunes card scammer’ has actual conversation w/ a scammer. Their methods are as unsophisticated as they’re profitable, yet people fall for them & scammers laugh all the way to the bank.

    Be prepared to detect and respond to a successfully exploited vulnerability and the constant patch emergency cycle can be a bit less stressful. Put another way: You'll sometimes lose the race to patch before the exploit is used. Plan for that failure now.

    Two of the most important measurements to apply to any enterprise product you're planning on buying. It doesn't matter how amazing it is, how much AI it has or how many of your peers are using it if you don't have the staff/skills to get it running and keep it running.

    Today, masks become mandatory in Knoxville, TN I saw more folks wearing masks today (maybe 5% to 20%?) but... Most don't seem to like having their nose behind the mask. Saw more than one group of people PULL THEIR MASKS DOWN to have a close conversation 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

    In that context, though, I need to ask - is it not past time we as an industry start requiring big security vendors to perform regular independent whitebox security testing of the products we put on our perimeters and give kernel-level privileges to?
