Process needs to be simple and easy for small business owners to navigate without a lot of expensive outside counsel. Couple that with vigorous oversight and strong and swift enforcement against violators and you start to have a system that’s fairer and harder to game. -
We don’t think about it this way but every time someone trying to start a small business has to hire someone else to help them navigate the process or has to do something like pay a city employee’s overtime (what?!) to get their permits, that’s an additional upfront tax.pic.twitter.com/vCAtz1WQJF
