Hey @TeamYouTube @YTCreators how can we address the myth that demonetization suppresses video reach and that YT only promotes videos that bring in money?
Bc no matter how many times I say it I don’t have enough “clout” to get the message across apparently.

Having a yellow icon doesn't limit a video when it comes to search and discovery, though if the video is more mature or has adult themes then it may not be widely recommended across all audiences (this applies to title, description, thumbnail, etc). More: https://yt.be/help/SiDC

This answers a lot.
This month my best videos have been marked as “mature” because I discuss health and medicine and my reach got cut in half @YTCreators I think this is worth discussing?@SusanWojcicki3 replies 1 retweet 48 likes -

I think there needs to be a complete re-evaluation in what counts as "adult themes". I know some schools use Dr. Mike's content in their classes, and if schools are showing his videos to a young audience then it's clearly not a "mature/adult content" problem is it?

Not at all! I use his quotes and videos in most of my presentations that are then presented to younger people and it’s not a problem. Kinda confused with how they rate useful videos as “mature” content.

Yeah exactly, it's a messed up system. I've got a written list of things he's said that are motivational and helpful to me that get me through tough days :-)
