Contrary to the myths: Only 2.8% of people in employment are on a zero hours contract & of these 2/3 do not want more hours.

.absolutly right for Conservatives to have put an end to zero hours contracts that prevented ppl working elsewhere. Labour failed to do so

.banning zero hours contracts altogether would deny this option to both the 2.8% of employees who use them & employers & put jobs at risk

I worked on a zero-hours contract throughout University. It gave me the flexibility I needed and never once did I feel exploited.

It also gave me real-world work experience whilst studying. I'm now a solicitor and wouldn't have got here w/o that experience.

I agree, I have also worked on a zero hours contract in the past but called it a flexible contract to fit in with studies.

that is 910,000 people. They may not want more hours but they may want more job security & employment rights & greater say when they work

But there will be higher unemployment under Labour's job destroying plans so they won't get job security at all

I thought it was 6% actually it's not about wanting more hours its about regular hours and standard employee rights to paid sick/leave etc.

The calculation is whether the flexibility for those 2/3 is worth the insecurity for the 1/3 though. Not whether it works for some people.
