Single payer is not unpopular! It's popular among Democratic voters! But it doesn't drive all of them to the most ideological candidate on the issue.
In NC, exit pollsters asked voters in the Democratic primary their view of socialism. 49-41% favorable/unfavorable. Among those who view socialism favorably... 35% went for Biden, 33% for Sanders, 16% for Warren. (and 8% for Bloomberg, lol). https://www.washingtonpost.com/elections/election-results/north-carolina-democratic-primary-live-results/ …pic.twitter.com/obxlq8pQld
Not to overdo this, but in Alabama, 50% of D voters support single payer, acc to exit polls. Biden won these voters with 47% (to 32% for Sanders, 10% for Warren). You get the idea. https://www.washingtonpost.com/elections/election-results/alabama-democratic-primary-live-results/ …pic.twitter.com/RDiynlOxxN
It's almost like they believe in progress but think Sanders is full of shit in what he promises he can get done with no actual plan to do it.
It's ALMOST like voters care about more than just the particular form of healthcare improvement.
So there’s no correlation between what they want and what they vote
Shocking development: people can be interested in things other than healthcare.
Because even though I support single payer, I don't think Bernie will accomplish anything.
someone trusts millionaire pundits more than they should
