    The first delta teaching and data fellow meetup of 2020! Thanks as always to our partners the for providing us a regular space to host these events.

    Today was our 2020 data fellows kickoff - this year we have are 53 data fellows working with 12 non-profits around the world. Our project leads have spent months scoping projects. Today they met their teams and kicked off the 6 month engagement with each non-profit!

    The cover letter is underrated for PhD applications (I've read 100s in recent years for ). For me, the quality of writing in the letter is more important than the CV. You don't need publications: give me a clear view of a research area, no novelty reqd, and I'm sold.

    Apparently, you need 1-2 publications at top-tier ML conferences to get into a top school for a PhD: I wonder if getting into top schools is still worth it, then? 1/5
