  3. For the second time in two years, the Senate is consumed by the nation's biggest, most polarizing political story But senators say Trump's trial feels a whole lot different than the raw emotions and ever-present protests of Kavanaugh battle.

Manchin said he’s been talking to Senate Republicans and “trying for a while” to generate support for censure. But he acknowledged that the GOP won’t go for it. “They’ve shut it down I guess, as I understand it,” Manchin said. “It’s a shame.”

At least 2 House Dems -- Steve Cohen & Frederica Wilson -- are skipping tomorrow's State of the Union. But female Dem lawmakers will again be wearing white (the color of suffragettes).

There are 30 Trump districts held by Dems. The races where House Rs absolutely need to crush it -- and should've gotten a big boost from impeachment. In only 12 of them did the GOP challenger hit $200K in actual donor dollars (a Mendoza line of sorts for fundraising).

  13. Schumer tells reporters after failed vote: "If the president is acquitted with no witnesses and no documents, this acquittal will have no value." Democrats have been previewing this message on acquittal all week, as + I reported yesterday:

  19. Also, Rs are getting incredibly antsy. Tillis, Cruz, Moran, Sasse, Cassidy can't seem to stay in their seats for more than a few minutes. Lots of cloakroom action. Meanwhile, Graham didn't go in AT ALL.
