Last week I got dozens of messages like this, from people who legitimately think of themselves as free software advocates. But they really don’t think much of free software if they think it won’t survive Stallman’s exit.pic.twitter.com/NdB6hSdrZO
There was free software long before Stallman. Nobody thought about it. There were even "open source" companies before the name was coined - and that period might be useful for ideas.
And we added a CoC at SWI-Prolog with nary a word from anybody a few days before the story broke. It's only Stallman's world that revolved around Stallman.
As you know, code was shared before opensource or free software, so can we just go back to calling it code sharing?
