Let’s not forget that he got that plum job at MIT due entirely to his position as @fsf founder, president and board chair.
That is his platform. That is the source of his power. Should the @fsf fail to remove him, he’ll use that platform to continue to poison our communities.

I want to take this moment to appreciate Selam Jie Gano, the MIT grad who wrote the medium post that set all this off. https://medium.com/@selamie/remove-richard-stallman-fec6ec210794 … Thanks for your courage, Selam. It gave me the push I needed to get this going.

We also owe an immense debt to all the people who’ve called this out since the 80s, usually in the face of individual and organizational indifference (or even hostility). I see you. You set this up, it was just for us to push over the finish line. Thank you

He is unworkable with a huge portion of people. He also wrote in support of a pedophile. So he was unsuitable for the position. In the extreme.

Well, you know, the all the women who have talked about their experiences with him? Oh and all the men who don't think that his behaviour is ok? He thinks that Epstein's actions - sex trafficking and rape - are ok, so much so he emailed a major list about it.
