      Now Stallman has the unmitigated gall to suggest that removing his disgusting jokes (& believe me, the jokes weren’t the half of it) will KEEP WOMEN OUT. RMS my dude...if you want more women in open source, the best possible thing you could do is leave & never come back.

      Sure. There’s direct usage and then there’s indirect. There’s a good chance that any current movie I go see was influenced by Pulp Fiction, which is problematic due to Harvey Weinstein & Quentin Tarantino. But I won’t give any more money directly to Weinstein or Tarantino.

      IDK, associating RMS with Weinstein because of bad jokes he made might be a bit too much. It's like Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies, only with famous rapist instead of famous mass murderer.

      I think your analogy is quite apt, actually. Like Weinstein, Stallman’s actions caused many promising women’s careers to be cut short. Like Weinstein, he operated this way for decades with virtual impunity. And like Weinstein, it finally caught up with him.
