And also, @fsf, while we're at it, lemme let you in on something else:
Your refusal to part ways with him - despite well-known incidents that have pushed women & others out of free software for decades - might have been ok 10 years ago. Maybe even 2 years ago.
It's not ok now.

The fourth
@fsf board member is Benjamin Mako Hill -@makoshark - seems super involved with Wikipedia, which is also known as an extremely hostile community towards women I guess I shouldn't continue to be surprised but I keep hoping

Wow. So because Wikipedia is an extremely hostile community towards women [citation needed], you go ahead and label Mako like this. Mako Hill has done tons of work for inclusion, respect and democratisation of the communities he's been involved, before these topics were "issues".

As a woman who is & has been prominently involved in Wikipedia for a long time, this is true;
@makoshark is an asset to our community and has helped make it better for everyone.2 replies 1 retweet 13 likes -

Hi, Phoebe! I know that's a topic that has mattered to you for years, so I certainly believe you. But I think what matters here is what he's doing about Stallman. Has he done or said anything? Because if he's on the board, he's responsible. This is grim:https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/9ke3ke/famed-computer-scientist-richard-stallman-described-epstein-victims-as-entirely-willing …

Yes, I do know; I am subscribed to the mailing list in question. And yes, Mako & others care about this topic. Can anyone prevent RMS from speaking? No. Can they share board discussions with the random internet? No. Can they oust the founder from his own org? Unclear.

Can the board issue a statement? Sure, and they probably should; but a) the Internet will rip in to them anyway, and b), see above about keeping RMS from speaking. And lastly can individual trustees quit? Sure, though I'd rather see ppl who care about this on the board than not.

Organizations can be re-formed. And the people Stallman continues to damage are worth more than this particular organization. That’s why they should resign if they can’t remove him.

The bylaws are published, not sure why the myth that he can't be removed keeps getting perpetuated....
