Sound good but, If you want to have solid networking: 1. Be genuinely interested in other people in place of being interesting. 2. Honestly appreciate people if you find something 3. Connect your network with each other without any benefit or motive for self.
This is very true, & also particularly challenging for folks from underrepresented groups, because of the abuse that 2) can generate. Yeah, that's not bad advice, but what do you do when you get death threats from white supremacists? Sarah isn't making a point about the skills and techniques of networking, it's about insecure, overrepresented people responding to people "stepping out of line" as they see it.
