Can confirm it's one of the reasons is so hard to shift a senior developer if they're a woman. They know what it's like out there and if they're already in a low creep zone it's not worth the risk to move.

Yessss Some things I looked for in my last job hunt: * People [men] at the top of the food chain genuinely care about D&I * "D&I" != "white women" to them * Evidence that women are able to succeed at non-entry levels * Clear attempts to try and counteract bias
-
I've really come to like three-person interviews to help with bias (plus other things!). As an interviewer, it means that there's someone else in the room to confirm that an issue isn't all in my head. As a candidate, I get to meet more of the team and *see how they interact*

Could also be: "many women stay in relationships they aren't excited about just because he isn't horrible"

I left my last job because my new boss was a level 90 creep. I’ve also resigned from looking for work in tech because I couldn’t get past the bro culture I found where I live. Some cities are better, but I don’t have the luxury of moving right now.

Neglected and unmentored is preferable to harassed - but sheesh. Women shouldn't feel grateful they get nothing.
