A parent preventing their child from being vaccinated should be reported to Child Protective Services. It should trigger mandatory reporting for teachers, counselors, & doctors. Quite an authoritarian hot take. How do you define unvaccinated? Some vaccines are hardly necessary (rotavirus). Also, research is indicating that chickenpox vaccine increases chance of adult shingles. I opted to skip these for my child but got polio, MMR, etc.

That’s true. Scientific consensus is that you should also get flu shots, and girls should get HPV. That list is a minimum.

My six year old niece has never been to school—aside from a month or two of preschool—because her mother refuses to have her vaccinated. We’ve considered reporting, but the concern for familial backlash stops us. It’s a bad situation all around

So which vaccinations will your authoritarian decree apply too? Flu shot? Shingles vaccine? Measles? Any and all available?

How about the ones which public health services have identified as necessary? Flu and measles can cause either death or permanent injury, so yes, along with MMR, polio and pertussis. Shingles isn't a killer nor is it wildly contagious, so you can play Russian Roulette as you wish

my youngest brother can't get many vaccines because of an egg allergy (many are cultured in egg albumen.) every fucker out there who doesn't vaccinate their kids is threatening him with measles, and people go blind from that shit.
