    TIP - we're getting calls re: long lines, but pollworkers are limiting the # of people IN the building for social distancing purposes. So lines are going to look longer than wait times will be. We'd rather have folks waiting outside than inside.

    Late Thursday, filed a lawsuit against Texas Governor Greg Abbott for his proclamation that would dramatically limit options for Texas voters seeking to hand-deliver their completed absentee ballots for this fall’s election.

    Nothing this serious and this close to the election. Wilson had a debilitating stroke -- on this exact day in 1919, in fact -- but wasn't up for re-election the next year. Ike had a heart attack in September 1955, but had a full year to recover before re-election.

    Voters are choosing to cast ballots by mail this year to protect themselves from COVID-19. Mailed ballots take time to process & verify. We will not have immediate election results this year & that means the system is working as it should.
