Suddenly I seem to know more and more people (not close contacts, thankfully) who are COVID-positive. We are heading into a scary time.

Last week alone, one of those hard-hit families was my Aunt, two of her sons (my cousins) and one of my cousin’s wife. All contacted from a hospice worker for my uncle who passed from cancer on monday. Was bad-Looking a bit better this week.

In the spring - I had two friends who got Covid. Neither was white - both took precautions and were youngish (in their 30s) and wore masks (it still doesn’t entirely make sense to me ...)

Hope your friends are OK. It's great they wore masks, but the real issue is if the people around them wore a mask as well.

Same here. Lot more 1st and 2nd contacts and more local, versus the “friend with a family member in NY who has it” scenarios. At the same time though, I do not see any increase here (Atlanta Metro) in mask wearing when I have to go out.
