Question: Someone is in my mentions arguing that "brass neck" is a problematic phrase, but I can't find anything to back that up. Anyone?
but the etymology of brass neck apparently comes from 'sticking your neck out' - so I think brass was just a random word that could have been steel, concrete, etc (I know you're just guessing, I just mean to ruminate on that)
