      Ok, so one thing that has ruined entertainment for me, especially in the era of 'shared universes' is how NOBODY DIES ANYMORE. Seriously, there's never any closure. There's very rarely any reckoning with the consequences of actions because characters are immortal

      Like, there's no threat in tv/cinema anymore, because even in shows which are brutal and kill favourites, they're resurrected, or seen to have escaped death, because they're fan favourites.

      BUT this means there's never lasting consequences. If there's no threat, no danger, no willingness to let a character go, how does the cast grow? It's why The Body in Buffy is so good. Also why I loved The Last Jedi. Because it was final. You got closure, but also repercussions

      But shows like Scandal, Doctor Who, Sherlock, ANY Marvel film/tv series always falls flat because I'm like "why do I care? the main characters are never in any danger, and if they are they'll be back in 3 episodes or in a spin off with a weak excuse". So what?
