Hi Americans: do you know what a bog is? Is a bog the same thing as a swamp? If I mentioned the word "bog" in a pitch to an American editor would they be confused. Wake up and answer me tyvm.
bog = swamp. if you mean toilet then say that or else they'll be like 'wow we'd love to publish your piece about wetland microbiology'
