actually, galaxy brain: dress codes are progressive because most places have implied dress codes anyway which you'll only know about if you've had access to that type of cultural capital, stating them explicitly helps those who might not know otherwise

before the Scottish Press Awards, Jamie panicked and rented a very big tux from a place that only did sizes 'Small Medium and Large' and turned up to the event to find that everyone was just dressed in normal jackets
