I am aware that many feminists have a radically different view of the symbolism of marriage to my own. I, personally, do not understand how they have arrived at that view. I cannot help but see the positive aspects of marriage fundamentally subsumed by its history.
I think the point she's making is that you're being incredibly patronising. So maybe just like, reframe?
