Also, let's be clear. Is Cancel Culture really the great civilisation threat people are acting it to be? As far as I can tell, JKR still has her money, her website, her creative outlets, she clearly still has her influential media friends. The only thing she's lost is respect.

Losing respect for what you say is a fundamental part of freedom of speech. I would prefer she not say what she says, but she's free to, just as I am happy to call her a bigot for the things she says. That's the marketplace of ideas babes, deal with it xox

I found it this morning and it hit the nail on the head. I am sick and tired of people interpreting that liberalism means everyone (aka, privileged media people) deserve access to every platform and any grumbling to the contrary is illiberal totalitarianism.

Like this I also saw this morning - that minorities are the heralds of USSR totalitarianism for speaking up, and it's our fault for wanting to associate within our communitieshttps://twitter.com/FlouncyMcGee/status/1280783910855757824?s=20 …

Nice Velour Top @FlouncyMcGeeLike, this: It's not the rising tide of authoritarianism from the corrupt government that should be concerning. Oh no, it's the pesky gays and black and trans people asking to be treated with respect after decades of suppression. pic.twitter.com/I7CmUpLCg2Show this thread1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes
