I honestly don’t get the assumption that everyone criticising the Soho images are doing it out of snobbery. I genuinely just think most people are scared

The protests saw lots of distancing and masks, Bournemouth too. This won’t just be one night, but presumably several nights a week, indefinitely. It’s not a criticism of the people out tonight but of a risk the government is taking and the way this is different from times before

Do you think it's perhaps more a view that the criticism is misplaced? Not so much that some think it snobbish, just more, why criticise a population for indulging in something the government have, if not actively at the v least implicitly, encouraged?

I guess I think it’s a bit of both. I do think a lot of people think what you’re suggesting, but I do think a lot of the people I’ve seen commenting seem to think it’s just born out of snobbery tbh

Without speaking for everyone it’s the distance rather than the number of people that makes me feel uncomfortable. Yesterday the R rate was apparently above one, now dozens of people are crowding across a small road. It doesn’t look good.

Scared because it's legal but obviously insane, meanwhile only one parent can be at the first scan of a baby

Their anger should be directed at the government for enabling this, not the people that were given the green light to return to a sense of normality.

There’s a responsibility that we all have to own. For eachother. The government are absolutely NOT the ones we should be looking towards as an example in the way we behave ( um hi? Dominic Cuntings ) We all know that this is what they want. Winter is coming. Be safe.

Scared and angry. People with vulnerable isolated relatives who have strictly observed lockdown first saw Cummings and Johnson senior flout rules - told to move on - now scenes that bear no relation to social distancing / 1 meter-plus rules.

Yep. 😕 Scared of myself or someone I know catching it 'cos someone else might have been in contact with someone else etc. And scared life is going to go on like how it is now for a LONG time yet - and frankly, being on my own in one room all the time sucks. 😕

God, that must be awful! I can't imagine what it must be like to be stuck in one room. I am scared of going out because I have underlying health issues but at least I have a small house and garden. I'm still missing coffee shops though.
