Sorry to pop off on one, but this language is wielded by abusive fathers to gain access to the children they put at risk. Parroting that is literally dangerous and, again, pushes an argument that doesn’t apply in most families struggling with this

Just remembered when the (court-mandated) counsellor said to me “every girl misses her daddy” and how, even at 16, I was like “how are you legally employed to do this”

Yeah like....my dad and I are in touch now but it’s not fulfilling, and had he not tried to make amends I feel secure in the knowledge that I would not have ever missed him
