I guess my concern is the idea that they couldn't hire people already in those places instead of or alongside the people who had to go down to London seems to be absent from the whole thing
I do get that but it seems logical? We’re in a recession so hiring is likely not a big possibility for some places and with more people at home you realise the (dumb) idea that everything needs to be in London is bullshit. Not defending the publisher lol but just makes sense imo!

People moving from London may already be from these cities/regions, so have their roots/families in these locations, as well as wanting a change from London. Also makes sense to have Hachette employees at the new offices to implement systems that are used in LDN office
