Just posting this on main for anyone confused by the popularity of politician lipsync TikToks. I also think there's a huge disconnect between what does well on TikTok and what does well on Twitter. A lot of the "viral TikToks" you see on here get relatively low engagement on the actual platform! @sophiasgaler pointed this out re a lot of reporting on TikTok from non-users
the more journalists that go on TikTok, the less this will happen. But TikTok is chaos for Tweeters. Twitter is for funny people, Instagram is for hot people, and TikTok is for people who are both funny and hot. Absolute disaster
Where are the hot and funny journalists on TikTok?
I always find them hilarious. It helps if the politics is not too icky. And is a lot funnier/more popular when it’s remixed with a beat you can dance to.
