Out of interest, has this experience made you neat/tidy as adults, or did you rebel as soon as you had your own space? I suspect my own disorganisation/messiness may partly be because I was only ever intermittently made to help with cleaning/tidying as a teenager.

For me there is a massive distinction between mess and dirty, and I shared with enough ppl at uni to know that some ppl are just dirty. I've never been dirty, but I have been messy. However now, I also don't like mess. More than anything because mentally it makes me feel awful
