So surely his line should be "Important to note that these funds are not being raised for the NHS but for associated charities which offer staff and patients additional help; the NHS is funded from taxation"? Rather than "Terrible that people think this, I'll just reinforce it"?
I really don’t think that’s how this tweet reads, the implication being “we should be holding the government to account on this” not “people are terrible”
Fair enough. I definitely read it differently.
It'a a national scandal that people want to help other people. We should all hang our heads in shame. This is the sort of thing that brings communities together and must be stamped out.
