I know this is going to encourage the worst men to Debate Me, but Eamonn Holmes talking about 5G is a perfect example of why no-platforming is worthwhile and why we should ban certain talking points with dangerous ramifications
Coronavirus crystallises the cause and effect pattern of near-absolute “free speech” and the way language can have immediately negative impact. Is it worth letting people who spout conspiracy theories be defeated in the “marketplace of ideas” when people could actually die?

I wonder what Ofcom will do with it...I would think it must be a reasonably serious breach of the Broadcasting Code. But even if that’s what they do find, it feels unlikely that Holmes will face real consequences. Hope I’m wrong.
Isn't it just an example of why senior broadcasters should be held to account in terms of their contract? I don't think he should be "no platformed" but should be sacked by ITV.
Yeah exactly this. Just yesterday I heard my friend in *Australia* got racist and homophobic abuse on Facebook because he challenged a colleague about his support for David Icke. Direct link from that London Live interview to this, the guy had never even heard of Icke before.
Another prime example is wheeling out the odious Toby Young to 'counter' experts opinions on the Lockdown. What does he know about dealing with a pandemic?
Odious is now his first name and should always be used before his middle name Toby.
Perhaps people who believe no-platforming is a good thing should be the first to leave the stage?
It was hardly like crying fire in a theatre given the fake news about 5G & Corbid-19 is already public. The best thing is to let it be discussed and rubbished. And idiots like Holmes ditto. PS I have no idea how I'd know if I am a member of the set of "worst men"
