It might be if you take a very British centric view of the app. It's also used by liberation groups organising in places where, for example, it is illegal or badly advised to be out as LGBT+. Or for business reasons as you mentioned in another tweet.
Yep! There are a lot of issues. But I'm putting this forward as a way to stop the spread of conspiracy theories that will literally lead to people dying that are absolutely everywhere on WhatsApp and won't be that mitigated by limiting forwards

On balance I disagree entirely that the benefits outweigh the negatives. Though I would like the government to provide frontline workers with PPE and stricter enforcement of social distancing guidelines. I think that'd prevent more deaths.
