it may not surprise you to learn that lots of journalists (namely Brits) are reporting on TikTok trends having clearly only seen the video from Twitter and assume virality when it may not have even gone that viral on TikTok

it is a bit nit-picky but also I if we want to really track its influence as a platform (as well as credit Twitter's influence!) people need to get a bit better at distinguishing between virality between the two. Also, is virality a word, because Google Chrome says No

Yes! Literally so many TikToks get 100k views on here and like, 5k on the app? I hate the way people think, now they've finally used TikTok a few times, that they're suddenly experts and that's how the rest of us have been reporting...
