...do the people arguing “Joe Biden is super old and in poor health!!!” think the rest of us just can’t see the candidate they’re advocating for or...?

So I am quite deliberately not following it beyond putting results and major drop outs in Morning Call BUT I will say that honestly, while I know that Sanders had a health scare of some kind, Biden looks about a billion years older than he did in 2016.

Oh he 100% does. And he has absolutely lost a step, although he’s better now than he was last year. But equally honestly... Bernie has lost a LOT of weight in a few months and looks older than he did even last summer too- and he didn’t look young before.

It just seems to me that *as a political argument*, it’s hard to see how (entirely reasonable) worries about an elderly candidate who may be past it lead you to Bernie and not to Warren

I think it’s less about specific age and more about how Joe Biden is regularly seen in public slurring sentences and unable to finish a coherent thought

The thing is that this is.... Joe Biden? Leaving his stutter aside, tripping over his words, saying the wrong thing and getting tangled in run-on sentences is literally who he has been forever. This is not an *endorsement*, obviously

He has absolutely gotten worse since 2012, and it would be delusional to deny it. He’s also *much* better now than he was a year ago, which at least suggests it isn’t all decline. I think it’s a hugely valid issue. I just don’t think it cuts at all in Bernie’s favour

If I look at a video of Bernie from 2012, 2016, 2020 - they’re all the same dude. Do that with Biden and you see a man mentally getting old in a much more extreme way

and unlike Bernie you can't realistically see Biden besting Trump in debates or even doing well given his current state

A real shame given recent evidence suggests rambling old men who get crushed in every debate have no chance of winning the presidency
