If Amazon is going to make its site very good so it can run a malevolent monopoly, maybe they could spend three seconds on making Goodreads less shit

I wish they had actual book suggestions based on what you've liked

I got the email “books out in Feb by authors you love!” And was like “great Leila Slimani has a new book out next month and she’s the only author I‘ve listed as rereading (twice!)” But not only did they not list her, they also listed a bunch of authors I’ve literally never read

They could literally make so much money off me if they did it properly but instead all I see on my feed is "person I hardly know has made progress on book I know nothing about", this is not interesting or helpful to anyone

They must have so much data on everyone too as it links to your Amazon account obviously....but my suggestion list is all the lonely planet guides I've bought

Yes it’s crazy! I could be on a direct debit to this lame ass site and yet they squander it
