This mostly in terms of how to get from London to Dublin the quickest - Holyhead? Liverpool? I’m clueless

This sounds like an excellent adventure! I might have to take my cat on the Caledonian Sleeper train to Edinburgh soon and it will either be the most fun or the absolute worst
-
martha is an absolute champ on the train (when we went up to my bf's family's house north of edinburgh in october, our train was delayed so badly that we were on it for over 8 HOURS) and people love pets on trains. do it!

Does she like other dogs? I might be thinking of the wrong ferry but there is usually a special dog section, which some of them love. Operators frown on people going in if they don't own a dog though
-
(lol) she LOVES other dogs, fucken obsessed with em. we're trying to get to sligo from london and know it will be a lot to take her but we'd rather do that than leave her behind <3

Well if youd like to see the best bit of ireland (belfast) you could take the train to cairnryan and ferry from there, otherwise either liverpool to Belfast or dublin or holyhead to Dublin
-
Holyhead is quickest from london and i usually find booking over phone is better than booking online. If you google stenaline and ring the number they'll do it for you, its about 30 quid for the whole thing if you have a rail card

For advice on all long-distance surface travel in Europe, http://seat61.com and
@seatsixtyone is always where to start. For Ireland specifically, it recommends Holyhead-Dublin and has this advice on pets.pic.twitter.com/QAm6BhfYJr

Bonus: I checked and Irish Rail's website has their rules for pets on board trains - seems very similar to the UK, and Martha should be fine on Dublin-Sligo.https://www.irishrail.ie/travel-information/travelling-with-animals …
