British residents in France cannot vote in national elections. It’s one of the rights reserved for citizens. I’m fine with that.

So really the issue here isn't expanding the electoral franchise to noncitizens then but the prohibitive nature of gaining citizenship and barriers you face. Maybe we could set up a crowdfunding page to help you become a UK citizen so you can vote in future? Problem solved!
