Regardless of this case, I do think there's an important question to be asked about whether it is useful/good/bad to have viewers' perceptions of debate performances intermediated by the cheers/claps/sounds of a small number of people who happen to be there in the room
not to be like "middle aged man quoting american history" but i do think people's opinions are (wrongly) skewed by getting anything more than the straight delivery of arguments (eg the jfk nixon televised debates vs on radio)
