yes and i say that! but i think where the bbc getting it wrong is *important* is that it makes online spaces even more difficult for non-online people to understand

Maybe my reading of your piece is unfair, but I got the distinct impression that were I not familiar with shitposts, calling something one should carry the weight of "this is probably linked to the alt right and terrorism"

the first thing I say is that shitposting is simply posting surrealist bullshit online and include the example from alex hern of just tweeting "joris bohnson". the reason why that's not the heavy focus is that i'm trying to illustrate why it's important to not just go "who cares"
