Has anyone read both Lullaby and Adele? If so, which one did you like best? My working theory is that it will be whichever was read first.....?pic.twitter.com/mZDmjDuxrq

BRAG: I interviewed LS last year and read both 3 times for it. I think both are good but Adele is definitely worse than Lullaby. Adele was her first novel so it's sort of awkward for UK readers to get them backwards. I would say Adele first to build up to the much better Lullaby
Overwhelmed even by the thought of your interview prep. Also had no idea that they arrived in the UK backwards--that makes so much sense.
yeah! a lot of people really shat on Adele and were like "she jumped the shark!!" but literally it's just that Lullaby was her second novel and we didn't get to see that growth here (I would say it's the same quality disparity between Sally Rooney's first and second novels)
Also, for what it's worth, Lullaby is one of my favourite books I've read in the last 3 years and you're really in for a treat
