Could someone write a piece on why we all suddenly started stanning the hell out of Bon Appetit

A lot of people are linking me pieces of people stanning BA (which I love!) But it *really* feels like at the exact moment I started getting really into BA, so did literally everyone else I know. WHY

from what I understand it started with Brad's show, (I for some reason, and friends with a lot of B Ameme accounts).

and while the piece I linked is an appreciation piece, I think it touches on a note about how personality fronted cooking was seen as different among the tasty-craze. That's why I linked!

oh yeah def it does! it seems like a couple years ago they started really investing in, like, ""the people"" and almost like influencer marketing-style converged at the right moment to birth a viral publication

and i do also think there's something in the fact that the recipes ARE GOOD and the directions ARE CLEAR the people ARE LIKEABLE. it's not like a forced thing, they actually have the shit to back up the marketing campaign

I think accessibility on social media plays a huge role - Alison Roman has a similar thing. She's ex BA but has made a small cult for herself out of the combination of good recipes and the ability to be able to just DM her food questions. Like the BA staff are aware of their fans

that's so nice? i really do think they have a unique set of staff - to have so many be public facing and have all of them be so likeable. i still want to know why it seems like 9 months ago everyone suddenly started stanning, and i wonder if there is a uk catalyst i'm missing

My guess is something similar to John Mulaney (the two fandoms cross over a lot) where so many Americans were chatting about it Brits started to take notice?
