I think the issue with it (for me at least) is that it seems like another inauthentic pivot when the stuff she’s written before when she’s “””true to herself””” (ie all of 1989) is actually flawless pop

Yeah, I mean it's very weird to do a song that's sort of 'haha! wasn't being a teenager fun! didn't we all love Panic! at the Disco?!' when, like, Taylor... u were an extremely famous teenager who sang about Tim McGraw

Yes! it just really does drip of “how do you do fellow kids” and it’s sad because it feels close to the magic she had in 1989 and parts of Red but just misses the mark
