Maybe I should have tweeted this yesterday rather than like 2 days after this was big news, but: I wrote about Jack Dorsey's diet and bio-hacking and how we need to accept that it's literally disordered eatinghttps://www.newstatesman.com/politics/health/2019/04/jack-dorsey-twitter-ceo-diet-eating-disorder-and-silicon-valley-normalises-it-tech-fasting …

Last bump for why bio-hacking is disordered eatinghttps://www.newstatesman.com/politics/health/2019/04/jack-dorsey-twitter-ceo-diet-eating-disorder-and-silicon-valley-normalises-it-tech-fasting …

absolutely this. The narrative of the men is stripped off the implication (or outright accusation) of vanity that comes with discussions of women dieting.

like, of course a lot of the diets traditionally taken up by young women (because they're literally targeted by horrible companies for them) are dangerous. but this idea that women dieting = silly but you, a big smart man dieting = clever, is just so obviously sexist

Couldn’t agree more. It’s totally a sign of disordered eating and so many many aren’t ever able to recognise these patterns. Weird life hacks like these are pretty much how my eating disorders started.

Techbros do with that everything. Refer to household tips as life hacks and suddenly they are cool.
