If you want to watch the Netflix show everyone's talking about that's £8/month. If you want Amazon it's £6.50. NowTV has good shows even though the interface is abysmal so that's £8. BBC licence fee is £12.80. Add a BritBox sub and you're spending £40/month on TV, which is a lot.

tbf though i don't think most people have a netflix, amazon, AND nowtv subscription, and if they do have all 3 then i doubt they're that worried about spending an extra £8

yes! this is essentially what we do. we have amazon, netflix, and a tv license between us but we split the costs
