Great piece! I'm fascinated (by which I mean horrified) by this phenomenon. Occasionally it's a force for good, but I hate the pile-on aspect of it on socially awkward guys. V common on gay apps too – which has even bigger implications re safety/privacy.

Really interesting read, thank you. Some of the fellas did have it coming, although in Rizals (goofy?) example. I just think Ellie was a bit mean spirited, but anything that gets people to think about what they are saying can only be a good thing.
